Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of digital literacy on life satisfaction during the COVID-19 period of the elderly with disabilities and to verify whether this effect appears differently depending on of age at disability onset. To this end, in the disabled data of the 2020 Digital Divide Survey, 600 people aged 55 to 69 who have had Internet use experience within the last month were analyzed for the adjustment effect using hierarchical regression analysis. Afterward, the significance was confirmed by a simple slope test. As a result of the study, first, digital literacy was the main influencing factor for the life satisfaction of the elderly with disabilities, and average monthly household income, residential area, degree of disability, and age also had an effect on life satisfaction. Second, the age at disability onset had a moderating effect on the associations between digital literacy and life satisfaction during COVID-19. The effect of digital literacy to improve life satisfaction has been strengthened as the period of occurrence of disability increases towards the latter part of life. Based on the research results, suggestions were made according to the time of occurrence of disability to improve the life satisfaction of the elderly with disabilities in the information society.
